The kits
What comes in an Adventure Kit?
An illustrated lesson on one ocean topic, real marine vocabulary, five hands-on STEAM activities with the supplies included, collectible flash cards, and a Certificate of Completion. Everything specific to the topic is in the box; you add water, scissors and the occasional household item.
Which age level should I choose?
Age 4–6 is read-aloud and sensory. Age 7–9 reads independently and runs the experiments. Age 10+ adds research, ecosystems and the science behind it. Between levels? Go up — kids rise to it. Siblings can do the same topic at different levels.
How long does one kit take?
Most families spread a kit over two to four science sessions — about a month of science block. Some kids finish it in a weekend. Both are fine.
Is there a subscription?
Not yet. Today you can buy a single kit, the Starter Kit, or a 12- or 24-kit prepay bundle. A monthly membership is coming — join the waitlist on the membership page. No contracts, ever.
What’s the difference between the Starter Kit and a regular kit?
Nothing inside the box — the Starter Kit is simply our four most-loved topics (Sharks, Sea Turtles, Coral Reefs, Marine Mammals) offered as a “pick one” for families who aren’t sure where to begin.
Bundles
How do the bundles ship?
Your choice at checkout: one kit a month, or everything at once. If you’d like specific topics first, tell us in the order notes and we’ll follow your list.
Can I change age levels partway through a bundle?
Yes. Email us before the next kit ships and we’ll switch levels for the rest of the bundle at no charge.
What do we earn for finishing all 24?
The official Jr. Marine Biologist Certification and free access to the Digital Library of extra lessons, games and resources.
Step Up For Students
Are the kits covered by Step Up?
Yes. Jr. Marine Biologist kits and digital lesson packs are Step Up For Students approved for reimbursement.
How does reimbursement work?
Order your kit, keep your receipt (your order confirmation email works), and submit it for reimbursement through your scholarship account. Email us if you need anything extra for your submission — we’ll send exactly what other Step Up families use.
Shipping & returns
How much is shipping?
Free within the United States, on every order.
When will my kit arrive?
Kits ship within 3 business days by USPS and usually arrive 2–5 days later. You’ll get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet for physical kits. Our digital lesson packs and Digital Library download instantly anywhere in the world.
What if something is missing or damaged?
Email us a photo within 30 days and we’ll send the replacement part or a new kit right away. See our Shipping & Returns page for the details.
Digital packs
What format are the digital lesson packs?
PDF, available to download immediately after checkout and from your account page. Each pack includes both the Ages 7–9 and Ages 10+ versions.
Do I need the kit supplies for a digital pack?
No — the digital versions are rewritten to use household materials. Every pack also includes a $10-off coupon toward any Adventure Kit if you want the full experience.
Field trips & scuba
Where do you run field trips?
Throughout South and Central Florida — in your classroom or co-op, or out on the water. Purchase orders accepted for schools. Request a quote on the Field Trips page.
When does family scuba open?
We’re finalizing pool and dive dates for the season. Email us your kids’ ages and city from the Family Scuba page and you’ll hear first.
